Experience Glasgow

On the west coast of Scotland you can find Glasgow, the "workmen town". With about 600,000 inhabitants the town is the biggest metropolis of the country and the third-biggest of the United Kingdom. If you would like to arrive by the car, you have to take an overnight ferry.

It may be more advisable for tourists to arrive by plane. Particularly not to lose mobility, there is a very well developed infrastructure net. From your pension or hotel in Glasgow, you can reach all places of interest comfortably by taking the underground or the bus. If you would like to escape from the urbane city jungle, you should look around for a holiday apartment, b&b or a summer cottage in the small, comfortable suburbs of the town.

In the city centre an interesting mix of historical and modern buildings from red and yellow sandstone which form the scene. However, besides there are also innovative constructions which were already developed to new landmarks of the town: as the Clyde Auditorium and the Glasgow Science Centre.

Apart from that you find many museums whose entry is even extensively free. You can die away the evening in Glasgow´s city centre in many restaurants and bars. Revellers are getting their money worth in one of the over 750 bars and night clubs.
