Freiburg - a charming town im Breisgau

In Freiburg im Breisgau, visitors will find – apart from its imposing cathedral – many sights which are well worth visiting. Some of them are the old and the new Town Hall and three town gates, which characterise the townscape to a considerable degree.

Apart from the Breisacher Tor, particularly the Martinstor and the Schwabentor will impress visitors. The numerous small streams flowing through the old town of Freiburg are just as characteristic as the gates.
Apart from these historic sights, Freiburg also offers many places for excursions. From the 1,284 m high local mountain Schauinsland, you will have a great panorama of the town lying in the Black Forest. You can reach this mountain comfortably via cable car or also on foot.

Different wine-growing areas, such as the Kaiserstuhl, are also situated in the adjacencies.
Not far from Freiburg, there is the theme park “Europa-Park Rust“, which attracts visitors from far and wide.
Guests who like nature, who want to have a look at the local flora and fauna and at the same time enjoy their leisure time, are just right in the “Steinwasenpark” at the gates of Freiburg.
