The region of Franche-Comté marks a great diversity in its uniqueness. All of its puzzle pieces put together result in an unbelievably beautiful landscape with water, meadows, forests and mountains. Franche – Comté unites the départements of Doubs, Haute-Saone, Jura and Territoire-de-Belfort. About one million people live here and each year countless visitors come here to enjoy and enrich themselves in its landscape, history and culture.

The area bordering on Switzerland is dominated by the Jura Mountains. Mountain lovers will feel very at home here. Hikes through these mountains will enchant you each and every time. Franche-Comté is located between Alsace, Champagne-Ardenne, Bourgogne and the Rhone-Alpes region and thanks to its magnificent parks, meadows and forests has earned the title of „France’s green lung“. The capital is Besancon. This city offers culturally interested guests many interesting events. And the history of this part of France lives on in its historic buildings.
