Estonia is one of the former "Eastern Bloc States" is in the north-east of the today's European Union. Already since the 1st of May, 2004 this interesting Baltic country is to be found in this confederation. On a surface of 45.227 square kilometres flats, holiday apartments and hotels in the most different regions and towns of the country are found for every claim and class.
Estonia has many regional faces. In the north and the west the country adjoins the Finnish Bay and the Bay of Riga of the Baltic Sea where 1,520 offshore islands are found. On the east border the infinite width of the former „Big Brother“ of Russia and in the south Latvia borders. One of the national symbols of the country is the birch. This is found itself in many traditional songs and poems of Estonia.
Moreover, this covers in connection with many other broad-leafed trees and conifers about 44 percent of the whole surface of the country. On the side of the fauna there are artic hares, beavers, foxes, does, deers and even moose, lynxes and bears.
At top of the north, at the Finnish Bay you find the capital of Estonia, Tallin. It attracts of course with nice flats, holiday apartments and hotels, but also with its charming medieval Old Town which was explained by UNESCO to the world cultural heritage in 1997.
The Russian-orthodox cathedral "Alexander-Newski-Kathedrale" with its onion domes visible far away is also especially nice to look upon.
