The Eifel, Rheinland-Palatinate

 

The Eifel as a whole presents an original landscape which has remained close to nature. The name „Eifel„ comprises various regions, such as the Vulcan Eifel, the North Eifel and the South Eifel.

A holiday in this area, centrally located within Germany and close to the neighbouring countries of Luxembourg, Belgium and Netherlands, is simply a must. A holiday apartment or holiday house provides the best starting point for interesting excursions through the Eifel region. Anyone of a more romantic nature or seeking to explore the history of the area should visit one of the many fortified castles and castles.  

The best-known fortified castles are "Burg Eltz", "Burg Pyrmont" or the "Upper and Lower Castles" in Manderscheid.

The beautiful Rieder Valley, near Mayen, is home to Bürresheim Castle, which has never been destroyed and houses a great many old treasures. The Mosel, the Rhine and the Ahr Valley are all very accessible from the holiday accommodation.
