It belongs to the metropolis region Bremen/Oldenburg and between these both towns it can be fast reached by the highway A 28. Besides charming hotels, pensions and comfortably holiday apartments the town and its surroundings has to offer a lot more to the visitors.

Named should be e.g. the listed city hall complex on the marketplace and the 44-metre-high water tower located also there which can even possess a viewing platform. In April, 1910 this water tower was initiated after one-year-old construction time. Still today it operates and catches 500 cubic metres of water. A special atmosphere achieves the town by the Delme, a rivulet which winds its run through the town. A visit of the city Bremen could provide some variety for the pre-programmed holiday.

It is a living, modern town, with big maritime past, because in the Middle Ages it played an important role under the Hanseatic towns. The Bremen environs to which also Delmenhorst is to be counted are valid with its large parks and greenbelt recreation areas as a purely relaxation oasis! Only a few kilometres away from the place you find the nature reserve Wildeshauser Geest.

Not only bicycle friends and canoeists will tackle this area with pleasure. With a booked hotel, a holiday apartment or a flat in Delmenhorst the right decision was made, in any case.
