The most beautiful water scenery of Brandenburg – the lake area around Dahme

The lake area around Dahme is also denominated as „Dahmeland“ (country near Dahme). It is famous as being one of the most beautiful natural landscapes of Brandenburg and extends from tan area South of Berlin until the edge of the Spree forest.

The natural park with a size of 590 square kilometers comprises a total of 70 lakes and more than 80 km water ways, which have been opened for water vehicles of several types. Those loving the nature can spend a holiday of a different, smooth type - on a house boat, a small cruise or when hiking alongside the water ways for several days (including overnight stays in a tent).

Guests who prefer more comfortable types of accommodation will find them in boarding houses and hotels of the small villages or in the city Königs-Wusterhausen which is well worth the visit.

The silent,location of the „Dahmeland“ which is dominated by the nature nearly doesn´t suggest the proximity to larger cities like Berlin or Potsdam. However the facilities of the capital which are well worth the visit can even be reached conveniently by public transportation. This proximity allows the lake scenery being a sought-.after region for visitors staying a day or a weekend.

A vast array of activities like Water sports, hiking, riding or Golf offer change for the visitors of the lake area of Dahme. The most popular bike trails, called „Dahme-Radweg“ and the „Hofjagdradweg“ lead you through the whole national park.

An outstanding way in order to explore the enchanting nature of the lake area is a drive with the hot air balloon.
