Czechia Republic, Europe

One of the many Kolonaden in the Czech spa town Karlovy VaryThough this young Republic as a whole may be a blank page for many people, some of its regions like Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia are known world wide. This is certainly the case for golden Prague, which evokes names like Franz Kafka and invites you to stroll along Charles Street, through the old town and the old town ring, and by evening to visit one of the lively jazz clubs, discos or bars. Or the huge mountains whose impressive ski resorts attract winter sports enthusiasts.

Nature lovers will enjoy the Bohemian forests, where the remains of native mountain forests, glacial lakes and moors will bring out the explorer in every tourist. Come and stay in a holiday home, or apartment, rent a room in one of the Czech Republic´s hotels or guest houses and look forward to a youthful country with a long tradition.

The Czech Republic - regions
The Czech Republic - unthinkable without the region of Bohemia: it attracts beer connoisseurs to Plzen, who enjoy the czech amber nectar now famous worldwide.
The Czech Republic´s foremost spa town, Karlovy Vary, greets visitors with its twelve springs set in the midst of a romantic mountain landscape. A stay in a pension or hotel here will pamper body and soul. In east Bohemia, Kost castle lies in the middle of the Bohemian Paradise nature reserve. It is one of the best preserved gothic castles in the Czech Republic. The country´s oldest nature reserve certainly deserves the name Bohemian Paradise: castles, forts and pools blend harmoniously into the landscape. Rocky spires rise like towers built by gods from the thick woodland. Springs, caves, gorges, tors and extinct volcanoes combine to create an attractive stone landscape. East Bohemia also boasts huge mountain ranges. "Where the Rübezahl (the spirit of the Sudeten mountains) and his dwarf companions still spin fairy tales" as a local folk song tells. And it is true: here you really feel as though you have suddenly woken up in a fantastic fairytale land. Those with their feet more firmly on the ground can come in winter and take advantage of the 400 ski lifts and 500 km of cross country ski tracks before spending the evening in a rustic holiday home. Moravia is also worth a visit: In the sleepy villages of South Moravia you will still meet people who are strongly attached to old traditions. In their company you will see proof of how living customs, clothes and traditions can stand the test of time. The town of Tel?, also known as "the Venice of Moravia", is located here: the Renaissance palace, the old manor houses of the town - all defy the passage of time and lead you back to days gone by.

And then of course. . . Prague
It is without doubt one of Europe´s most popular holiday destinations - the golden city on the Moldau. Perhaps you would like to stay in a holiday home or a hotel in Prague?
It is also known as the town of the hundred towers and spires; largely spared from the ravages of war, it is an extremely attractive city with well preserved historical architecture, laboriously painted stucco facades and small romantic streets. But modernity has a place here too: baroque and gothic combine with cubism and functional architecture which makes a stylish grasp into the future to form a harmonious whole. Here tradition and the world of tomorrow meet.
Creativity springs from the union of seemingly unlikely partners: it seems to be a characteristic of Prague. Jazz and rock ring out from the numerous clubs: dozens of stages present theatrical events. Numerous famous writers were born here: Rainer Maria Rilke, Franz Werfel, Franz Kafka. You can still feel their presence today: on a walk across the Charles Square, perhaps, even if just for a second, on lively, modern Wenceslaus square. Or over a plate of roast pork with cabbage and dumplings or roast beef with cream washed down with a good czech beer in one of the city´s restaurants. Raising your glass to the writer´s memory, you understand their connection to Prague. . . and smile. And rising above all this hustle and bustle is Prague´s castle, the largest enclosed castle complex in the world.
The city feels secure under its watchful eye.

Accommodation
The small village houses and log cabins on offer as holiday homes in the Czech Republic are the epitome of the rustic retreat, and extremely comfortable. Or what about a renovated farm house, 150 years old, which can still supply the most modern creature comforts? Maybe it doesn´t necessarily have to be a house? Then you could rent a luxury apartment on Wenceslaus square in Prague or check into a five-star hotel in Karlovy Vary. Skiers will presumably visit in wintertime, and head right into the heart of the Czech Republic´s mountains. The huts there are particularly comfortable: heating keeps you warm whilst snow falls outside. And those who want to travel particularly cost-effectively will find numerous suitable accommodation options in the Czech Republic: even apartments from as little as 10 Euro a night.
