Corvara - cradle of the tourism in the Alta Badia

In a sunny basin at the foot of the impressive Saasongh Mountain lies the holiday resort Corvara. This town, with a population of 1300, is a part of the Puez Geisler National Park and together with Enneberg, Abtei, Wengen and St. Martin forms the five communities of the South Tyrolean Gader Valley, which all speak several languages.

Corvara, located picturesquely at 1568 meters above sea level and surrounded by the Sella and Puez mountains, was documented for the first time in 1292. By the end of the 18th century, young people had already begun to take trips through the Dolomite Mountains. In 1938 the first ski lift was built in Corvara and after the Second World War a ski school as well, which was the corner stone of tourism in the Alta Badia vacation region.

Today, countless tourists spend their vacation in a comfortable vacation home or a hotel in Corvara. No matter if in summer or in winter, the magnificent Dolomite Mountain region offers you the perfect surroundings for a relaxing vacation.

Corvara is the starting point of the mountain passes to the Groednerjoch and the Campolongo Saddle.
The Sella Ronda, a passage around the Sella Mountain, is known by bikers as well as by skiers as a rewarding challenge.

The 16th century Gothic Saint Katharina parish church with its winged altar is a popular excursion destination and photo theme. Further highlights of a trip to Corvara are hiking, rock climbing or golf.
