Chur – History and more

A holiday apartment, together with the lovable family, or a room at the hotel, as a couple, or with friends, in the city Chur a city vacation is a holiday of a special kind. The capital of the canton Grisons in Switzerland has to offer anything – in history, culture and also nature. In the oldest town of Switzerland in which already the Romans have settled, it never becomes boring.

The centre of Chur is the postal place. From there you can reach through the Grabenstrasse to the “Bündner Art Museum” in which you find assembled 200 years of “Bündner art history”. In the other direction of the postal place you find the Fortunaplatz – also a meeting place Old and Jung, dominated by a monument of the castellan Fontana.

The whole Old Town is worth seeing; all nice town houses of the past centuries, the episcopalian court of the baroque – to all this you can walk through. Also on the shore of the Plessur and of course on the Rhine you can undertake longsome walks.

Numerous other historical and sacred buildings banish the visitors with the old and venerable Swiss town. Of course you can undertake journeys to the whole area of Switzerland from the holiday apartment or the hotel in Chur. Swiss specialities in the excellent restaurants perfect the vacation.
