Central- and West Poland – rest along the Vistula

Poland should be - as a neighbour of Germany - absolutely on every holiday list. Due to the nearness of the countries you can reach a nice hotel, a comfortable pension or a holiday apartment in the east part of the country very fast by own car. Because Poland shows around 4,000 navigable rivers and canals, besides of the arrival by airplane you can also possibly come by ship.

This could happen across the Vistula. The Vistula is the stream which opens out into the Baltic Sea and then flows south eastward through the nice mountain regions, valleys and towns. Thus it passes, e.g., in the middle of the country also the capital city Warsaw. Here a stay should be absolutely included in your plan. Many museums, theatres and castles promise a diverse, traditional culture.

In the north of the country, westerly of the Vistula mouth, you find the city Gdansk. This metropolis is not only a worth seeing Hanseatic city, but also a starting point of the EuroVelo 9 and leads all keen on sport cyclists into  the direction of Adriatic Sea.

It is also called the amber route. Rest searching travellers, above all families, are drawn just by the east half of Poland by the surroundings of the lowland plains full of lakes and the nicely invested national parks. Among the rest, wisents considerately wander through the fields and meadows. With a holiday apartment, a pension or a hotel in central Pole and East Poland the holiday can be relaxed or also be formed actively.
