Capital Region- Metro Manila, the economic heart of the Philippines

The Capital Region of the Philippines –also called Metro Manila - is located on the northern island Luzon. It consists of the capital Manila and 16 additional cities that have grown together to an economically strong region with approximately 15 million inhabitants.

Metro Manila extends from the west - up to the coast and lies between the Manila Bay and the extensive Laguna de Bay.  Manila stretches at the Manila Bay. Approximately 1.6 millions of people live in the area of the capital.
