Calabria – full of sun, the whole year

If you hear something about the holiday region Calabria you probably think immediately of dreamlike beaches, hidden bays, crystal-clear water and everlasting sunshine. What else could be more interesting than looking for a nice hotel, a summer cottage or a holiday apartment at the boot point of the mainland of Italy. Directly at this point you find the street of Messina which separates Calabria from Sicily.

The ocean sea “Tyrrhenische Meer” is connected by them with the Ionic sea. The region is attracted by several mountain ranges and rivers from which not all of them lead water in summer. Nevertheless, this does not diminish the comeliness of the charming scenery in the least. Hence, a visit of the national parks of Calabria is also extremely recommendable.

If you have pleasure in going on a mushroom foray you will discover much in the Calabrian woods of the Sila and Serra. These are also the woods and mountains in which the pine grows and primarily foxes, hares and wild boars have their home.

The lemon-, olive-, eucalyptuses- and orange trees are typical for the region and to be found rather near the coast. Also cultural lovers get their money worth in the region Calabria. So e. g. in the archeological excavations of Lokroi and Sybaris antique buildings can be marvelled at. In any case, the holiday in a holiday apartment or a hotel in Calabria promises versatility without any limits.
