The people of Brandenburg love their Spree Forest; and more and more tourists understand why: altogether about 970 kilometers of waterways cross through the biosphere reservation and invite you to romantic boat trips.

Romantics may be drawn to one of Brandenburg’s 29 cities with old city centers surrounded by intact city walls. And also the culture of the Sorbes, who lived as a minority with their own language and tradition, may elate them. Romance has always had high season in Brandenburg... since many centuries.

Sanssouci and Rabenstein – Brandenburg’s architectural beauty
A look at the capital Potsdam is more than enough proof of the beauty of the castles, fortresses and churches in Brandenburg.  The structures here partially originate from the 12th and 13th centuries.

The Sanssouci castle, the St. Peter and Paul cathedral, built of red bricks, the Plattenburg and the Rabenstein castle, which lies in the so-called Hohen Fläming, are especially worth seeing. The 17 Cistercian monasteries, beautifully covered in ivy, can also be seen. Here some will be enraptured and feel enchanted.
