A town with a 2000 year-old history

Bonn, the former federal capital, can look back on a 2000 year-old history. Accordingly the number of the attractions and places of interest is also big.

In the district Nordstadt many remains of the Roman's time still reside and today the former camps are still clear to distinguish. Further historical places are "Alter Zoll", the electoral residence as well as the different old churches. A visit of the former government quarter with the Office of the Federal Chancellor and the Villa Hammerschmidt should not be missed.

Bonn is situated in immediate nearness to the Rhine so the obvious thing to do would be to explore the idyllic scenery with its castles and palaces while undertaking a longsome shipping. But also the surrounding region invites to extensive walking- or bicycle tours.

In the nearby woodland the visitor experiences nature pure and on the bridle- and footpaths which are separated by each other, the area can be explored in complete silence. The overnight stay possibilities are extensive and present possibilities for everybody.

A hotel or a holiday apartment is just available like small pensions or camping places. And for backpacker numerous youth hostels in the region are available.
