Canton Bern, Switzerland

 

The mountain regions of Uri Canton are particularly beautiful: mountains such as the Eiger, the Mönch and the Jungfrau overlook the valleys of the Bernese Oberland and seem to be so majestic that the UNESCO declared them part of the world natural heritage.

The city of Interlaken is also located here; the place is perfect for heading for the different skiing areas of the region. Maybe there’s still a vacant holiday flat, apartment or a room in a guesthouse or hotel in Bern? Just try it! Adventure aficionados will love Interlaken just as skiers. Bungee jumping, canyoning, glacier hikes, river rafting, paragliding: no matter what small adventure you would like to experience, you will certainly be able to give it a trial in Interlaken. You prefer it calmer? Then visit the beautiful St. Beatus caves and marvel at what nature has built during centuries.

You can also decide to spend your holidays in the municipality of Hilterfingen Hünibach on Lake Thun and stay in a sunny region with bathing days, sailing trips, hikes and perhaps a trip to Hünegg Castle, whose furnishing hasn’t changed since 1900. History cannot be more descriptive.

You can also spend a bathing holiday that is just as nice in Oberried on Lake Brienz. Those wanting to relax are dead right here: just have a moment’s rest on the lakeside, take a deep breath and enjoy the view of the mighty mountains.
