Berchtesgaden is a tiny village in the utmost South-East of Upper Bavaria. Also the castle of the Bavarian royal dynasty is located at the market square which shows different exhibitions. The smaller royal villa is located below the Kälberstein, from the centre to the West.  

A museum of local history has been set up in the castle Adelsheim.
The trips to the Schellenberger ice cave and to the Kehlsteinhaus at a height of 1,834m – where a lift is operating - are especially interesting.
