A particularly interesting part of the landscape around Lake Balaton is the area to the west of the Badacsony mountains with the Keszthely mountains and nature reserves, historical monuments, numerous hot springs, the wonderful aquatic and bird world of Little Balaton, lakeshore vineyards and of course, the gentle water of Lake Balaton.

The West Balaton Region is perhaps one of the loveliest areas in Hungary. The most important attraction is Lake Balaton with its shallow basin which slowly gets deeper and its water temperature of up to 23-28 °C. Water lovers will find the most popular beach in the area which, with its sandy shores, dunes, swimming pool for children, toys and shady, covered sandbox is equally popular among adults and children.
In addition to swimming, a number of high quality services ensure carefree recreation. Among these are the surf school, water-ski lane, huge slide, beach volleyball and handball court, paddleboats, miniature golf, boating, sailing, playgrounds, fishing, buffets and restaurants.
