Your vacation in the heart of the romantic black forest
The vacation regions in Baden Wuerttemberg most known by the reader are the Swabian Alp, Lake Constance and of course the beautiful Black Forest. Whereas the Black Forest, with its mild climate and many small brooks and lakes invites you to long hikes and exquisite landscapes, the Swabian Alp pleases the eye with impressive pictures of limestone cliffs and the plateaus covered in juniper. Lake Constance is also well worth seeing with its well-known flower island Mainau.
It is one of three larger islands there. The Reichenau monastery on Reichenau Island is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Reichenau is also known as the “vegetable island”. Lindau, with its historical Old Town built partially in medieval style, lies on the third island and is also worth visiting. More than 20 vacation routes lead to the further tourist features Baden-Wuerttemberg has to offer, for example the popular coo coo clocks (German Clock Route) or to the famous baroque churches.
