PatagoniaPatagonien is well-known for its gigantic steppe landscapes and the pampas.  The Argentine part lies in the protection of the Andes and is very dry for this reason.  It is permanently run through by wind. 

The Chilean part Patagoniens is determined by the cooler and rainy climate.  The region Patagonien is known for its many lakes, glacier, fiords and woods.   Rheas, Condores, Nandus count as one of the animal variety with a large number of species and guanaco, as well as flamingos, which live on the big lakes.

Patagonien has two national parks – Torres del Paine and Lo’s Glaciares-.  Torres del Paine lies in the Chilian part and is aim of every Chile tour.  Lo’s Glaciares is on the Argetine side and was declared the world cultural heritage.  Who has the necessary time should have a look at both sides of Patagonien.

Patagonien is as big as Europe.  Nevertheless only  around one million people live here.  Even if Patagonien should seem dreary to occasional visitors, the visitor nevertheless finds in Patagonien a motel  or hotel which one can stay for the holidays.  The luxury hotel Explora is located on the Chilean side of the national park Torres del Paine.
