Andorra – Welcome to the Pyrenees

The mini-state is the ultimate paradise for  winter sports enhusiasts as well as hikers. The tiny country is extremely mountainous and has a lot of summits which are higher than 2,000 m.
Given that it is not astounding that also the hikers have fallen in love with this mini-state. The landscape of Andorra is very varied so that many hikers spend here their best weeks of the year. Besides cliffy mountain ranges there are ample forests and impressive canyons.

However Andorra is especially during the winter a paradise for all skiers due to the fact that the principality is well known as a snow and winter wonderland. Here the most highest and largest skiing region of the whole Pyrenees can be found.

Whether La Rabassa, Pal or Ordino-Arcalis – here the dreams of the skiers become still true. The holidaymaker will find besides a great variety of ski-lifts even a “snow crib” for the smallest. This is probably one reason for the fact that families with children prefer this region. Additionally there is a wide range of all kinds of accommodation you may think of: from the exclusive hotel to the family friendly holiday apartment to the cosy apartment. So for everyone there is a choice suitable for his needs.

So tiny the country may be it nevertheless has many extremely interesting sights due to its 1,000 years of heritage. Numerous small churches or bridges of medieval times are silent witnesses of the past. Above all  the church “Santa Coloma” in the capital city “Andorra la Vella” impresses its visitors. 

To summarize it: Andorra - a fascinating tiny country.
