But particularly in Andalusia, visitors can fulfil their dream of their own Spanish finca on the sea. In Spain’s important surfing centre Tarifa, water sports aficionados will find many possibilities for adventure such as wreck diving or surfing. What is surprising, however, is that, in the Sierra Nevada and so close to Africa, there are not only excellent hiking routes but also Europe’s southernmost skiing region.

But those looking for the unique Andalusian soul have to explore the towns and cities in order to find tracks of the Moors. Cities like the capital Sevilla or the oldest town of the Iberian Peninsula, Cadiz, shine in the light of The Arabian Nights. One of Andalusia’s best-known buildings is the fortress Alhambra in the university town Granada or the mosque Mezquita in Córdoba.

Do yourself a favour and succumb to the charm of Andalusian nights, even if it is less than one thousand and one.
