Aberdeen - city of granite and roses

Aberdeen the prosperous university and industrial town and living centre of northern Scotland is situated in the north-east of Scotland, between old manor-houses and castles, wild cliff lines and green heights of the Grampian Highlands. Aberdeen is the place where visitors of northern Scotland arrive by boat or airplane to journey through the land.

However, also the second look at the city by the North Sea with about 250,000 inhabitants is worthwhile, because Aberdeen surprises with gardens, parks and wonderful silver-grey houses of granite, with a lively night- and student life and an interesting North Sea harbour.

By the kerosene- and natural gas frequency in the North Sea Aberdeen became an important supply centre and today disposes one of the worldwide biggest helicopter landing fields. Many interesting and nice institutions to rest and spend some spare time like at the Museum of Sea- and Highlander, amusement parks and lidos, golf links and among other things the delightful conservatories of the Duthie-Park emerged from the wealth of the town.

Visitors will find lodgings in a fantastic surrounding at town hotels or "Boardinghouses" with flats and holiday apartments. Beyond the town „Bed & Breakfast“ - pensions, romantic hotels, historical country houses and summer cottages in enchanting country houses surrounded by wild gardens.

The only worldwide "Malt Whisky-Trail" leads to traditional whisky distilleries in the surroundings of Aberdeen.
