Rhine Main area, Hessen

 

The Rhine-Main-area is a nice beauty patch with Straussenwirtschaft (place which sells home-grown wine when a broom is displayed outside) in Hochheim which invites to the wine pleasure and substantial snack. There are the Vintage Festivals in summer which are often accompanied by live music.

Here you can taste wines of the Rhine-area or, however, a few kilometres away from the Main valley the cider which has a harsh, classical mark, is agreeable and with a lot of calories and alcoholic content. Dörnigheim is embedded in the Main-valley, a landscape missed by the mass tourism which is full of healthy nature. Here you can also test hard cider experiments with sloes, watch swinging boats or dream of the transience of the life at the shore of the river Main. Cheap car rental in Frankfurt.

If you like to do something for your education, you may visit the leather museum in Offenbach at the Main, the cradle of the leather par excellence or risks a look at the castle Isenburger Schloss which was once a centre of attraction for children on account of the Punch and Judy Show.

The mountain Bieberger Berg allures not only fans into the stadium while the football season, the adjoining, extensive park with its curiosity, the "soup bowl", a deep, round meadow valley which you can euphoric run around together with bag and baggage, an attraction for every holiday guest.

You can camp in Praunheim, directly at the river Nidda where barbecue areas exist and which also invites to long bicycle tours without slopes. The tower “Goetheturm” in the middle of the forest “Oberraeder Wald” also fascinates even today the big and little visitors. To the "Wealdchestag" at Niederrad it is tradition to go on the Tuesday after Pentecost, a gigantic Open air party in the forest where international booth are positioned. Home decor can be admired in the antique Roman´s towns in Frankfurt Praunheim up to Heddernheim.

For spending the night hospitable villas are recommended in the Westend of Frankfurt or as well you find sweet holiday apartments and pensions in the “Taunus” area or all around the Main valley. Holiday apartment are the best to find near Frankfurt.
