Neckarland-Schwaben, Baden-Wuerttemberg

 

These two regions score with their charming landscapes which present themselves like a red carpet to their visitors and invite to exceptional discoveries. The region has more than plenty to offer with regard to culture – magnificent sights alternate with a large offer of leisure possibilities. Lonely lakes, crystal clear streams and deep forests with an old tree population show the regions of Neckar, Hohenlohe and Swabian Forest in their natural ambience.

Knights and princes once felt animated to build castles and fortresses in this region. The fairytale-like Langenburg Castle with its automobile museum or Neuenstein Castle with its completely preserved kitchen from the Middle Ages are highlights which you should not miss.

The Twin Rivers Kocher and Jagst guarantee tourists on bicycle tours a romantic tour of a length of about 350 kilometres. Hohenlohe possesses princely charm and proudly shows its numerous fortresses and castles. The open-air plays and concerts in an historic atmosphere are unique incentives in the summer.

By now, many of the historic, imposing aristocratic estates have metamorphosed and turned into interesting museums. Vineyards along steep slopes, deep valleys with rich fruit tree fields and deep forests round off the panorama. Castles and fortresses show a true sense for art with picturesque collections.

The regions of Kraichgau – also called the Baden Tuscany – and Stromberg with the nature park Stromberg-Heuchelberg between Heidelberg and Karlsruhe are lovely wine-growing areas whose beauty unfolds in front of the visitors’ eyes like a painting captured on canvas.
