Meersburg – Baroque City at Lake Constance

Meersburg is a small town in Baden-Württemberg. It is located at the northern shore of Lake Constance and famous for its grape cultivation areas. Due to the mild climate of the south bank above the lake, grapes for especially exclusive wine grow here.

Meersburg is an outraging destination for capricious food, traditional culture and many kinds of artistic pleasure. Many visitors enjoy a visit here, for just one day as well as for several overnights. You will find here many lovely accommodations in hotels, boarding-houses and holiday-apartments.

The castle of Meersburg with its well-known Dagobert’s Tower is the symbol of the town. It is integrated into a beautiful baroque townscape with picturesque castle grounds and gardens that form a unique old-town-ensemble together with public places, view-points and small lanes, which is listed on a historic register.

Several wonderful museums and galleries enrich the vacation for guests who are interested in art and culture. The lake promenade offers a fascinating view over Lake Constance up to the mountains.
Right at the shore of the lake a magnificent thermal spa was opened, which is fed by water out of the Meersburg mineral spring. Close to it you can find a centre for water sports.

From Meersburg you can go on several excursions, like to the islands of Mainau and Reichenau, to the Salem Castle or to Bregenz with its impressing pier.
