Vacation flat in Emilia Romagna, Italy

Emilia Romagna is an administrative region of Northern Italy comprising the two historic regions of Emilia and Romagna. It forms a rough triangle, bounded on the east by the Adriatic Sea, on the North by the Po river and on the South by the Apennine range.

Emilia Romagna takes his name from the ancient street Aemilia (a roman building) which connect the city of Piacenza to the city of Rimini and all the cities of Emilia Romagna are built along this street. The capital is Bologna, a medieval city with towers and typical buildings of that period: his magical portico characterized the streets of the historical centre.

While in Emilia Romagna be sure to enjoy the food. The region offers some of the finest culinary traditions of the Italian peninsula. Parma has its cheese and ham, Ferrara has his salame, Bologna, nicknamed la grassa or the fat one, does a great mortadella and is the birthplace of tortellini. Agricolture is the most important economic activity: cereals, potatoes, maize, tomatoes and onions are the most important, along with fruit and grapes for the productions of wine (of  which the most famous are Lambrusco, Sangiovese and Albana). The industry of Emilia Romagna is also healthy especially the food industry, mechanical and automotive with the industries of Ferrari, Lamborghini and Ducati: it is possible also to visit the museums inside the industries.

About the climate it is important to know that there are three different climates presented in Emilia Romagna: in the plain zones the climate is continental with cold and foggy winter and hot and humid summers; in mountain zones the climate is of Alpine type with cold and foggy winters and cool summers; in the seaside zones the climate is moderate with cold winds from north-east. The region is rich of rivers most of which are born in the Apennines where there are many important park relevant for a naturalistic point of view since they presents rich varieties of floral and faunal species.
