The Brunswick country - between resin and moorland

The Brunswick country belongs to the most interesting and most diverse regions of the Lower Saxony and is geared to the historical borders of the former Duchy of Brunswick. A narrowly interweaved net of historical but also industrially embossed towns and wide sceneries spreads out in the southeast part of the federal state.

The most popular destinations for a subnatural and active holiday are particularly the nature reserve Elm-Lappwald which is affected by gentle mountain ranges and the planar country of Wolfenbuettel. In the interesting, cross-national Geopark “Harz-Brunswick country-Ostfalen” vacationers will find numerous wonderful hiking trails and cycle tracks.

They conduct the visitor to the nicest viewpoints and to the most important places of the park. In the rurally embossed areas of the Brunswick country many nice holiday apartments on farms or rooms in boardinghouses are available for guests.

Cultural vacationers have choice in royal seats of numerous good hotels which are rich of tradition, e.g. as Brunswick or Wolfenbuettel. At the river Elm where the famous Dr. Faustus was born and the rogue Till Eulenspiegel went far with good and bad jokes you can take a look at the well worth seeing picturesque castles of the Guelphs, the active "car-city" of Wolfsburg or the city  Schoeningen.

The unique project “Grenzenlos (unlimited)” of the city Helmstedt informs in a demonstrative way about the history of the division of Germany.
