It is said: if you were here once, you will always come back. Because the Bavarian Forest is so beautiful. It stretches over six counties from Deggendorfer Land to Freyung-Grafenau. Here you can wander through landscapes which still seem wild and unrestrained Wonderful spring air, the smell of awaking blossoms, snowy landscapes, summer meadows: in the Bavarian Forest the seasons have kept their character.

Many people say the Bavarian Forest is rustic, pristine. In turn, others say that these people are right. 

In the Upper Bavarian Forest Nature Park, for example, nature is still wild and almost untouched. Rare plants grow here and the park is one of the last retreats for some types of animals.

Thus there are signs that wolves have resettled here. Experts have determined that within five to ten years the Bavarian Forest will be home to a wolf pack. But don’t be afraid: the animals are shy and have nothing in common with the wolves in fairy tales. The nature park offers families with children a lot of fun, also in the autumn months when the leaves begin to glow or in winter while camping.

The Bavarian Forest offers diverse accommodations. No matter if in a five star hotel, in a vacation home, at camping grounds (summer or winter) or on a farm which is, of course, very appropriate for families with children: some city children may see and marvel at their first cow here. This alone makes a trip to the Bavarian Forest worth while.
