Abruzzi - Beautiful scenery and culinary delights

The Italian region Abruzzo is located in the middle area of Italy and has its eastern border on the Adriatic coast. The wonderful sand beaches along the Adriatic Sea as well as the Apennine Mountains in the inland fascinate both summer and winter vacationers. Diverse landmarks and a beautiful landscape make a vacation in Abruzzo an unforgettable experience.

Tourists are offered an eventful stay in a wide range of well kept hotels, vacation apartments or homes. The most attractive center of Abruzzo is the province of Pescara. Gently sloping sand beaches and cultural attractions characterize Pescara.

Furthermore, culinary delights – roast suckling pig, maccheroni alla chitarra, parrozzo – and the typical wines – Montepulciano, Trebbiano d’Abruzzo – round up a visit to this Italian province. 

You can do exciting sports in the almost pristine outdoors. Trekking, mountain biking, free climbing, kayaking and bungee jumping are just a few possibilities to increase your adrenaline level. A visit to the Grotta Nera (black grotto) is also worth while or an autumnal walk through Abruzzo’s national park.  

In order to take a bit of the Italian way of life home, vacationers can stock up on the specialties of the region. Well known cold cuts, cheeses, sweets, olive oils and wines are readily available in the many grocery stores.
